General Sculpture

Sculpture (particularly bronze sculpture) is a passion of mine and is a natural fit with the General Art blogs.

I wish I had more time to study and practice this addictive art form.

Carson, I studied all the clay sculptures on your site. Your pieces are gorgeous. The presentations are full of life and movement. They are lithe like dancers and you have sculpted such lovely faces on each piece. I use to sculpt in clay. I love doing bas relief with a flat back with three dimensional art layered on the top. I have done faces but like working flat. It’s easier to pour a plaster mold on a three dimensional flat backed piece. Unlike my pieces, yours seem to be representational of dancers. The pliable and lovely characters that you form in clay are so breathtakingly gorgeous. You have a special gift when it comes to this type of specialized art .“Lilly at the wall” turned out beautifully. This piece has delicate limbs, the folds of the dress delicately wrap around the well shaped body. There is power in the legs that have heart shaped calves and well turned ankles. The piece takes the human body to a new level of beauty.
